ALDS Game 3

Big Unit Implodes
To be fair, by all accounts it was a crappy night to be pitchinig. The 11-7 scoreline is pretty grizzly.
The Big Unit sent the Yankees to a 0-5 early deficit by the fourth inning. Amazingly, the Yanks came back to be 6-5, but then the game just fell apart as it did two nights ago, and so the Yankees are down 2 games to 1 in a best of three series. Even Aaron Small's luck deserted him in a slug-fest that went the other way.
Hideki Matsui had a solo homer that opened the Yankee account.

Earlier in the day, the 'Othersox' knocked out the Bosox from the play-offs, so there definitely won't be a re-run of the ALDS games from last year. Crucial in that little game was one magic Cuban the near-immortal Orlando 'El-Duque' Hernnandez.
While I feel real happy that the Bosox got done by the Chisox, I'm feeling quite queasy about the Yanks' odds of getting through.

So where is it at now? Shawn Chacon starts for the Yankees tomorrow in a bid to keep the hopes alive. The Angelss will send lefty Jarrod Washburn to the mound. This is it. It falls to the lucky guy who rolled in from Colorado to save the Yankee season.
If he doesn't well, I'll always think fondly of his efforts this year. It was way cool for Small and Chacon to get the Yanks to the post-season in the first place.

Shawn Chacon. I'm thinking about it. Colorado Rockies cast off. The guy who wasn't supposed to make one bit of difference. Well, here he is. ready to go - Amazingly, I'm quite happy about it when I think about it. Win or lose, it's been an amazing, interesting season for the Yanks. And if there was an A-Rod moment or a Jeter moment tomorrow that salvages it all; well, I've seen that before too. It's all cool.
Now I'll breath deeply.
