Trying To Do Some Bossa Nova
When I was in High School, I bought an LP by Charlie Byrd, which I thrashed to death. I always wanted to try playing
bossa nova, but as some people say, dying is easy, jazz is hard. In most part, my playing style emerging out of listening to too much Pete Townshend, Robert Fripp, Steve Howe, and Trevor Rabin, never really led me to the
bossa nova sound... until now.
I know it's weird. it's certainly not every day that I attempt a genre like
bossa nova, but I've had this little songlet for a couple of years now and I just wanted to get it down while I thought of it. The result of the mini-session is
this track.
